1900 - 1915 - the Dade County Courthouse on 12th Street (later Flagler Street)

Downtown Miami, Florida

Note the Australian Pines along what is now Flagler Street.

Thanks to Ray's research, this was the third Dade County Courthouse. The first was in Juno, the second was on the banks of the Miami River and this was the third. The fourth, and current courthouse, occupies the land where this photo was taken.

Okay history buffs, where was the courthouse before this one was built? "banks of the Miami River, east of the old Miami Avenue bridge". Where was it before that? Juno. North of WPB. What you say? How could the Dade County Courthouse NOT be in Dade County? But it was!
