1922 - a Hialeah residential area across from Triangle Park during a flood (comments below)

Hialeah, Florida

This image is a William A. Fishbaugh photograph donated to the Florida State Archives. I cropped and enhanced it for website display.

Larry Dahlberg wrote in to say: "My Grandparents came to Miami in 1911 and settled in Hialeah around 1920. The picture of a Hialeah residence in the 1922 flood is their house across from Triangle Park. (House on left) My uncle is the little boy in the foreground on the end of the planked walkway."

My Dad lived in one of those Triangle Park homes in the '30's. I can't remember which one, but I will ask him. He is 90!

There are still some really old houses behind (across from?) Triangle Park. I wonder if these are the same homes.

I think this is a picture of the first houses across from triangle park. A friend of mines grandmother live there (in the middle house) and i can remember her telling stories of being a young girl and the floods that came with the hurricane rains. Their last names was Ames and they lived their thru the 1970's
