Amerilumber is going to be demolished next week. Good bye to another Miami long time business.

Guest: Are you sure you're thinking of the right lumber yard? This one is on Bird, MDFR's area. I think you may have been working a big fire on SW 8th (or you had a REALLY long hose lay)

Thank you for the address correction, Andy. You should know if anyone so I made the change. Thanks for your other comments under other photos too.

That is 7004. My family started TBS and sold it to Amerilumber. We had alot of good people working for us through the years. Brings back ALOT of memories.

I worked here around 1982 driving a truck. There was 2 brothers that owned it then, both great guys.

It later became Everglades Lumber. Before I left the Miami Fire Dept. in 2002 we worked a four alarm fire in that lumberyard. I pumped water into that fire for so long my pumpers exhaust burned a hole in the road surface of S.W. 8th street.

I think this is actually 7004 Bird Road, not 7400. Amerilumber Hardware - 7004 Bird Road Miami, FL 33155 is there now. The very recently abandoned rail road tracks would be under the photographer and he is looking WSW. Notice the Burger King in the background.
