1951 - the northwest corner of NW 7 Avenue and 95 Street, Miami

NW corner of NW 7th Avenue and 95th Street

It appears that NW 7th Avenue is under some serious reconstruction at the time of the photo. County Plumbing is visible on the next block to the north.

What Kinseeker says about them widening 7th Ave makes sense. In the previous photo of the hardware store, there's a barricade in front of the store blocking the roadway and a sign that says ROAD CLOSED.

During the 1940's there was a road house called The Miami Moon located across the street on the northeast corner of this intersection. 79th street was the city limit. There was another nightclub on the east side of 7th ave arount 81st st called Zizzen's Bowery that was a favorite for GIs on R&R during WWII,

I believe Renner's Donuts was located in this building in the mid 50's. Great glazed donuts!

They were widening 7th Ave to give better access to the new Biscayne Kennel Club at 119th St.

Thank you for these pictures. My family owned property off both sides of 95th street and I lived on 8th Ave just off 95th street during the mid 60's. This bring back many memories.

Notice the traffic light is strung from a pole behind the building. Seems totally strange with today's standards.
