He was also a super humanitarian. Orphanages, retirement homes, people with mental disabilities, the deaf...he worked hard for them all. His wife and daughters have followed in his footsteps with charity work.

There was recently an exhibition honoring him and the 50th anniversary of SUKIYAKI. It just closed, but there appears to be talk of taking it on the road.
