The photos in this gallery are from the bus #2 airfield tour of MIA that I conducted on Friday, January 15, 2016 in conjunction with the annual Eddy Gual aircraft slide gathering of aviation photographers from the US, Europe, South America and Asia. The event is now handled by a convention committee and the group name is Florida Aviation Photographers (FLAP).

Bus #1's tour was conducted by Norman Hegedus from the Airside Operations Division at MIA. Bruce Drum, retired Deputy Director of Aviation Department, was unable to make the event due to the bad weather and driving conditions earlier in the day. Ralph Cruz from Airside Operations was our chaperone on Bus #2 for the second year to make sure we complied with airfield safety rules. We sincerely thank Lonny P. Craven, Airside Operations Division Director, for his continued support of the annual airport tours by providing buses and drivers for the tours. We also thank his superiors at the Miami-Dade Aviation Department by allowing this annual event to continue.

We all had a good time on the airfield despite the downpour of heavy rain during most of the tour. But we had a brief respite from the rain toward the end of the tour and I'm sure many photographers ended up with some beautiful photos of aircraft in wet action on runway 27 and the adjacent taxiway.

Due to being hosed by lousy weather conditions for several years the FAP Convention Committee has decided to move the convention dates and airfield tour to early February in 2017. More details will be published in the near future.
