This is truly an amazing place! In the summer it can be very hot and buggy, but it has am amazing diversity of habitat and we have found birds here that we have seen nowhere else. And bugs are also great - especially the "flappy kind"! We see lots of dragonflies and butterflies here! Less desirable bugs include ticks (tuck your pants into your socks), mosquitoes, and hungryflies. It all depends on the weather I suspect - some days are quite fine!
Highly recommended - even for seniors like us! Porta-potties are available at both major entrances.
Note that they manage it as well for hunting during the appropriate seasons, so sometimes you might want to wear blaze orange.
