My lovely wife Judy heard - and then saw - this lovely female Belted Kingfisher while doing her daily walk. She came home to grab her camera and went back to shoot her best ever photo of this spooky bird. After seeing her pics, I left my robe and Sudoku behind (oh, I did get dressed first ...) and was very lucky to find the bird still working the small pond!!! I see this as a "Tale of Two Fishers".

The bobber is way up in a tree. Fortunately very few people try to fish this shallow pond. Some residents feed the fish... But there are lots of Bluegills for savy Kingfishers!!! Oddly, after more than a dozen years,it is the first time we ever saw a Kingfisher there.

BTW, Judy's pic was better than mine! You go girl!!!
