Judy and I were here a couple a weeks ago and I saw a "spot" walking on the lily pads at Belle Isle. It was a Spotted Sandpiper. I first thought it was truly amazing that anything could walk on lily pads, but on reflection, remembered that our Kensington birds who alighted on our hands weighed essentially nothing! And, if a fat featherless frog lives on lily pads, why not a feeding bird? Anyway, the "spot" appeared again in the same habitat. By now, I suspect it is normal behavior - and actually consistent enough I can tell where to find it! Fascinating!
