Since switching to digital photography I have expanded my photographic vision to include photographing different types of events. Mostly it has been for my own benefit and experience, but on occasion I have been asked to shoot. Each time it is a learning experience as I try to bring back the correct exposures using the available light. In this gallery I am showing some of the events I have taken photos of over the past several years. Some were taken indoors with mixed lighting. The outdoors stuff were done in the shade or out in the open at mid-day. So each one presented its own challenge. Experience is the best teacher and as I learn more by each outing I feel more comfortable with doing this type of photography. It is very challenging when people are involved since I want to show the respect due each one while trying to present them with a natural look. The art of photography, for me, has been to learn the equipment and practice, practice, practice.
