For two weeks in June 2008, the Dos traveled to Viet Nam for a memorable visit.
We spent parts of three days in the capital city of Ha Noi in the north, with a one-day side trip to Ha Long Bay. We then took a flight south to Da Nang to spend two days at the old seaport of Hoi An along the central coast. Another short flight took us a little farther south to the beach town of Nha Trang where we spent another couple of days. A three-hour car trip took us up the mountains to the hill station of Da Lat for a couple of days. From there we took another short flight to the final destination of our tour: Sai Gon, the former capital of South Viet Nam before the country's unification and it was renamed Ho Chi Minh City.
