Hello-
I am writing to ask for your opinion on our first home/first kitchen remodel. Yours looks fantastic and I was previously thinking of using cork.
We just bought a 100+ year old mission/four-sqare house with wood floors throughout, except in the kitchen. We are going to redo the kitchen with either marble, wood, or cork. I actually purchased marble on a special at HomeDepot for $2.25 12x12 Triple Brown color (classic rich look), but I am not so sure that the subflooring will allow it to hold up like I want it to -worried about crackes even if it is on backerboard. Wood and cork would also look great in my opinion but I wanted to know more about the real world experience with cork. (cleanup/water damage/too soft?) I think I got a great deal on the marble since I have never seen it below $5/sqft, but I just want to make sure it is the most practical/economical choice for us since we are on a tight budget.
Oh one more thing. We are probably going to use the marble on countertops too if we end up using it on floors, but what would you suggest using with the cork floor... laminate? Corian and stone slab is out of our budget. Thanks for your help
Paul
