I took this photo on September 11th to show one of the bugs I have been seeing on my grapes. These little critters where all over the ripe grapes, along with some other pests, like wasps. There was also some beetle looking bugs that had an orange body and black legs. When I had the camera with me, they were gone. I guess they are camera shy.
I also lost about half of my crop due to heavy rains. On one weekend I had ALMOST ripe grapes ... during the week there were several heavy rain showers ... by the following weekend there were a lot of rotting grapes on the ground. I finally had to pick everything because I was worried that the bugs would get what was left of my first years harvest. Note to self: during harvest season, check the grapes EVERY DAY! What I did pick was very, very good. The Supreme grapes are very large and sweet.
