Do you know of anyone trying to grow Muscadines up north? I have the Ison grape and would like to find out what other Muscadines ripen early enough to manage. We don't have cold winters here, but our summers are cool.

This is stellar work. If I ever see you, I might just ask for your signature.

Your photos have really made my day. Thank you.

Annah, I glad the photos have helped you. I haven’t taken many photos lately because my camera is in for repair. Right now all the leaves are turning yellow and dropping off. I’ll start getting ready for next years planting during my Christmas break from work. Thank you for the blessing. God has blessed me with a good family and a nice vineyard to work in when I retire. If you have any questions I can help with, don’t hesitate to ask.

I've learned a lot by looking at your work on the vines. I bought a lot of vines and wasn't sure of how to prune 'em and also how the T-trellis would look like in my yard. I live in a sub-division. God bless you and your family.

Pam, I'd be happy to help in any way I can. I'm new to this also. Until I started this vineyard several years ago, I had no idea what was involved, so we are both newbies at this. I just have more plants and spend more time working on the vines, that's all. What questions do you have?

I'm so excited about my five new grape vines (also my only grape vines). I have traveled about hundred thousand miled on the internet researching grapes and how they are grown, only to end up very, very confused. Your pics and commentary has lifted the fog considerable. I would love to pic your brain...I desperately want my five little vines to be healthy and productive BUT I need help! Please don't think I'm a kook-kook bird because my issue is five plants not five hundred...this is very important to me. I may be little but my cause is mighty. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ~ Pam Lucore

Hi Don,
I'm a fellow Ft. White Cowboy Cavalry shooter. In fact I am the subject of your pic. #'s 37, 69, 46(far left bottom), (my gun cart w/blue/white umbrella in #50), at the "Shootout on the Sante Fe" 06 gallery. I don't know how you did it, but the pic,s. are great. Hope you had as much fun as I did. Again, the pic's. were really great and we are indebted to you for capturing the essence of the shoot.
See you on the range,

Elise, it can be done, but for the individual, the cost would be high. I’m sure there are companies that are either making them now or in the process of making them. They have the benefit of ordering the white LED’s in vast quantities. Even in my home town of Gainesville, Florida most of the street lights have been replaced by LED arrays, so home lighting can’t be too far away. I would just do a good search on the internet to see what you come up with.

Your site is really great. My question for you is whether you have made/could make an LED lightbulb - one that could replace a standard household incandescent. I understand that since the LEDs use very little power some kind of method of stepping down the power has to be used before an LED (cluster of LEDs) bulb can be screwed into a standard light socket? NGOs are using LED lighting in developing countries - http://www.lutw.org/

I was thinking making them could help me cut my light bill.

Thanks,
Elise

Don:

I have pictures of the three puppies we adopted and brought to live (very, very happily) in Jacksonville --- Roxie, Angel and Chance. Would send you some if I knew your e-mail address. Please let me know what it is.

The puppies are all beautiful, well-behaved, happy little creatures. And smart!!!
