Looking up at the Rock of Cashel

Cashel, County Tipperary, Ireland

Definitely one of the most spectacular things we visited in Ireland. I have many pictures from when I was up on top. It was a long and arduous journey getting there from Kilkenny during which I drove miles and miles and miles on little back roads which often seemed like horse or foot trails and had hedges blocking your view and lots and lots of blind corners around which there might be another car coming toward you or a parked tractor or sheep. Exciting! Thankfully it was well worth it once we got there.

wonderful image of a fascinating place....those back country roads in Ireland are a treat to drive, although as you say there can curious encounters along the way..

Incredible shot of the land and castle joined as one, with a turbulent sky the perfect background. Voted.

Spectacular is the word. Well worth the effort of the trip. I can see where an attacking force would have a problem back then. "big Vote
