We were cooking dinner for some friends, when suddenly blonderose looking out the window said nonchalantly, "Look at the hawk on that antennae across the alley." I got a little more excited and raced out to tell Scott and our guests on the back patio. Yes, we were graced with a hawk in our back yard. Well, not quite our backyard, but in the cemetery across the alley and then the house across the street. I count the cemetery as our backyard though for birdwatching purposes. This hawk looked well fed, and we have noticed a diminishing number of rabbits on the cemetery hill which is usually quite populated. I can put two and two together, can you? Anyway, Scott and Shaggy grabbed their cameras and raced to take a picture. There was no way that my tiny little point and shoot camera could possible get a picture of a distant back lit hawk, so I used the opportunity instead to add to my gallery of Scott taking pictures.
Scott's picture of our red-tailed hawk can be seen here.
