We've had numerous Rose Breasted Grosbeaks (as many as seven in the crepe myrtle at one time) plus several indigo buntings. You need to come back and whip out your telephoto!

Dick, anxious to see the pictures from Petit Jean. Had some rose breasted gross beaks and indigo bunting at our feeder this week and Bill has a wild flower garden blooming with a lot of poppies that are so beautiful. Coe

Hi. Richard: I just reviewed your latest pictures and they are wonderful. Especially the butterflies. Those views of the monarchs are gorgeous. You are so talented.

hi Dick, thanks so much for leaving such a nice comment at my galleries. I haven't visited 'birdforum' in ages as I find it much too tedious to navigate around there. You have so many wonderful images, and I really enjoyed your Arkansas landscapes- my Grandfather was born in western Arkansas- the Waldron area, near Bates. I've added you to my favorites to return again soon :)

Dick, thanks for your comments on my galleries! Nice to see that I am not the only crazy fool (that's what my wife tells me) that enjoys birds, mineral collecting, digital photography, and happens to live in Texas (I live north of Houston just south of the Sam Houston National Forest on the north side of Lake Conroe). I even moved from a Nikon Coolpix before I got my Canon D60 and Canon 300 2.8 IS, though mine is the 700 and not the 990.

You have some very nice photos in your galleries! I especially enjoyed your birds of the Texas Gulf Coast as these are the birds that have become frequent targets of my photography over the past year or so at some of the same locations. You have several nice photos of birds I have yet to see or take any decent pics.

Regards,

Dave(aka Vogelman)

Thanks for visiting my galleries, Dick. Wow! You sure have some beautiful butterflies down there. Great shots! We just don't get those here in PA. Gotta work with what I got. :)

Dick,

Some fantastic photos. We (my wife and I) have recently moved to Corpus Christi and bought a home on Oso Bay. The bay is our back yard with water for about a mile. We see many of the birds that you shot feeding within 50 feet of our back door. We don't know what they are all yet but are learning. And, yes, we are in town.

Thanks for a great site.

Carl

Dick, you have some great pictures here. We plan on a Western trip from 10 Sept to about 25 Oct. Will be passing thru Houston sometime late Oct around 20th. Not sure yet, depends on weather and Jerry's disposition. Keep up the good work. Give my regards to your hard working wife and good looking daughter Carrie. Howard
