These full-sized Adobe RGB images were taken from a nital.it Nikon forum thread, and converted in Photohop CS to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 using the following settings.

The images were shot using either the Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 lens or the Nikkor f/2.8 60mm Micro.

The duck photo at least is from Nikons own promotional web site page for the D200???!!!

These photos and others I have seen on PBase from the new D200 seem a little soft or the focus point is in the wrong place and in some cases there seems a little too much noise but then D2X photos at first seemed like that until users learned the complexity of the new camera. Your crop of the cat and the leaf is pretty good on sharpness and noise but without the full exif data it is a little difficult to see what the camera is doing. I've not seen anything as yet on the web that I could not have matched with my D1X or D70S (with some post processing). I wonder, if like the D2X, the camera is so good that it exposes the flaws in the cheaper lenses until the photographers learns to apply the right amount of correction in Photoshop or Mikon Capture? Thanks for posting the shots anyway as I am considering the D2x and now the D200 - I'll wait for the DP Review hands-on in-depth review next week.
