Auto Insurance Claims: What is the procedure?

When you have any auto insurance claims, the very first thing that you need to do is to contact your insurance company. If you are in an accident or find out that you have damage to your vehicle or to property, you need to contact your insurance company right away. In most cases, if there is criminal activity, such as a moving violation or criminal damage, you will want to first call the police. They will handle insurance that everyone that is involved in the situation is taken care of. Even if the police are not called, in order to make a claim against your insurance or the other drivers insurance, you will need to get all of the necessary information from the other driver. Then, you will need to call on your auto insurance company and policy to move forward.

Claims are anything that may be covered by your insurance policy. If something happens to you, to your car or to property that is caused by your vehicle, you will need to use your insurance company to pay for the damages. This is called making a claim. Once the insurance company does their investigation, if needed, they will issue you a check or have you bring your vehicle in for repair. This will allow you to get your vehicle fixed or to pay off the other individual that may have been hurt by your mistake. For most insurance companies, the process is very simple to do.

It is important, though, that when anything happens to you or to another driver that you never admit that you were guilty of it. Simply say that you do not know what happened and let the insurance companies work it out. IF you admit that you did something wrong, then your claim may not be covered and you will be responsible for the damages to your vehicle.
