Red Clay State Historical Park honors the Cherokee who used to live in east Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia. Roughly 16,000 Cherokee were forced from their lands on the infamous Trail of Tears to Oklahoma by President Andy Jackson; many died along the way. The park is home to the sacred Blue Spring and holds the eternal flame of the Cherokee.
