Snake, rattle and roll!
09-JUN-2008

Snake, rattle and roll!

This is the first snake (western rattlesnake) I've seen this year and only the third rattlesnake I've see in over four years.
It was a great experience getting within a few feet and spending 30 minutes being careful keeping that distance!!
I know I haven't posted much this year or been around much but some experiences seem worth sharing.
Now I just have another 300 shots to go through for a gallery!!!!!

Nikon D80
1/160s f/11.0 at 300.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original

What a great shot, Dave. We get them here in rural north san diego too. Haven't seen one yet this year. Thank goodness for long lenses.
