The Odd Couple

Driving home, Beth needed our attention so being the dutiful father I left Melissa to it and explored
an old piece of wood lying in the grass on the side of the road. Turning it over I saw three Black
Widows, in this case a female with possibly a juvenile female rather than a male, but still checking.
I hasten to add that this was a rush shot as I lost sight of the other two Black Widows in the grass
around my feet, which were in sandals! Whilst I gather Black Widow bites aren't as horrific as
notoriety suggests I didn't want to prove the point!!!

Creepy but they're both good-looking kind of spiders. Gets my vote.

OMG - that's the exact reason why I have a hard time shooting spiders!!!
When I had a digital with live view...I could hold the camera out and take the pics, but with my camera now....there's no way I'll ever go close to a spider without having both eyes on it!
You are, a brave man!

Hopefully Black Widows don't bite through socks, which as a true Englishman you were no doubt wearing with your sandals ;) Nice shot, though your photographs of late are making me itch Dave!
