Holt Station Forecourt

Moving on to Holt, where we confusingly find the Stalham station building ...

To explain. The current station at Holt lies some distance outside the town, the old station and the track leading into it havong been cleared. Stalham is another village, also once served by the M&GN railway but about 30 miles away. The railway to Stalham is also long closed.

For many years, the Poppy line terminated at a simple platform with minimal facilities. In 2005, the North Norfolk Railway had the old Stalham station building dismantled and reassembled at Holt. Here we see the result.

The bus on the right is a former London bus, which shuttles passengers arriving by train over the last leg into Holt itself.

This is another modelling project on my "to do" list.
