Brilliant perspective and of course I love your processing.
Those chairs look like they are very well-behaved. :)
Robert Walls31-May-2007 21:46

Jolie photo. Bientôt 10 ans, tout a changé, et rien n'a changé à d'autres points de vue. Excellent, ceci dit, ton point de vue.
Quelque chose peut-il changer ?
shatterbug24-May-2007 06:14

I adore the POV and atmosphere too JD! How deep did you go to catch this ?!

(One of the "children" of revolution of 1968 is still active and well known in my hometown Frankfurt and he has his domicil here - Daniel Cohn Bendit!)
Dr. Michael G. Mathews23-May-2007 14:17
Love the PoV and the sparse lighting. Exposure is excellent to bring out the reflections, shadows, and light play. Cheers sir!
Char23-May-2007 13:29

Chris Thorpe23-May-2007 11:31
Ahh..the 60's with more students in the streets than in the classrooms. Very nice perspective and light.
Eric Carrère23-May-2007 09:04
Belle atmosphere JD, V.
olivier bruning23-May-2007 08:25
wonderful image. the lonesome figure at the far end almost dissolves in the enormous open space...fantastic pov, wonderful shot! v
Kaden Kratzer23-May-2007 07:34
Phenomenal image JD. Great usage of the 10mm lenses. Love the contrast in light and the reflections and lets not forget the warm passionate reds. V

Excellent! All you need now are students :-)

Beautiful shot,vote
crina.23-May-2007 05:05
well, yes. I did not need the wikipedia for this one - suggestive, indeed - interesting to see how much heart you put in (virtually) every image - it shows and it adds to the subject every time -
Jude Marion23-May-2007 05:03
Very cool image, JD ... after reading your link, it's like we are looking at 'ground zero' the place where the event of May '68 all began.
Here is a fitting slogan from the Wikipedia site:
Pouvoir à l'Imagination
Power to the Imagination.
Alexandre Trudeau-Dion23-May-2007 04:43
Vraiment bien vue de vette angle et la solitude!
Sheila23-May-2007 04:11
Great angle, light, composition.
Patricia Lay-Dorsey23-May-2007 02:54
This is an exceptional photo, JD, on many levels. As a remembrance of May 1968, but also visually. Your point of view gives it a sense of timelessness with the lone human figure in the distance symbolizing isolation and alienation. Powerful work.
Michael Shpuntov23-May-2007 01:57
Excellent perspective. These red chairs are very interesting element in composition. Makes eye jups from one to another finally landing on the figure at the end. Great shot.
Elaine (etfitz)23-May-2007 01:46
Great light and colors!
CIS23-May-2007 01:23
Love the way you got right down, shows the emptiness from ground level up.
Very interesting link!

I love it when you crawl around on the floor and take shots! This is a great perspective! I'll check out the others!
Jack McSorley22-May-2007 21:36
All too familiar, library study or student union?
wernere0122-May-2007 20:43
Remember those days. Great shot and perspective. The chairs look like way back from the sixties too.
TimA22-May-2007 20:36
The angle has emphasized the emptyness. Red, black and yellow help to emphasize the defiance too. Great idea and very well shot.
Barbara Heide22-May-2007 18:33

excellent work, light, compo.
JSWaters22-May-2007 17:24
I like your interpretation of the May 1968 events. The linear structure of the image tries to defy the impact of the lack of students. In the late 60's here in the US, we got so used to nightly news flashes of student activism, but it alway leaned towards the radical and more violent episodes. This goes to show, a soft voice can be just as effectively heard when used with reason.
René22-May-2007 16:53
joli angle
tres belle couleurs & composition
J. Scott Coile22-May-2007 16:47
Well represented. Thanks for the history!
Silvia Roitman22-May-2007 16:45
great perspective & lighting!!
Stu Egan22-May-2007 16:20
Lines and repeated shapes/colours drew me along the length of the classroom to the figure there at the end, raising some questions....what are they doing there with no-one else around?!!!

A repeat in May 2008 perhaps?
Dan Chusid22-May-2007 16:07
Are you leading the strike?
sushislee22-May-2007 16:01
superbe lumiére et couleurs!
