Mme. Kunda

The newest member of the family, an African Spur Thighed Tortoise (Geochelone sulcata).

She had been sadly mistreated; her shell is damaged, had a hole bored in it for a tether, and she appears to be blind in one eye. She has now arrived in tortoise heaven with a wide range of greens to eat. Sulcata love mushrooms and she has found a few in the garden. She has decided that she likes to sleep in one of the guard houses at night.

Madame Kunda rules the garden and travels far and wide and I am happy to report that she seems to have regained the sight in her eye.

Kunda is Sango for tortoise.
