And so, finally, Shoreham hearts are broken. After bringing the club to their best position in the competition, it ended in defeat at Stanway Rovers. Every player give it their all, with no exception, but it just wasn't to be. With a goal in the last minutes of the game, Stanway snatched the victory of what was a closely fought and, it has to be said, reasonably well mannered, cup-tie. With chances at either end, and the clock ticking on, you knew that a single goal was what might win the game.

God knows you couldn't feel more gutted for DJ, who's groin injury flared up during the warm-up and cruelly ruled him out of the match at the last minute. The pain and anquish on his face were clear to see in equal measure when he finally emerged from the dressing room after treatment. We love you DJ!

But the team did themselves proud, and it was a fine display, with good passing and teamwork.

On a personal note, I would also like to thank the Officials and Staff at Stanway for their Welcome and hospitality during our visit, it was much appreciated.
