In 2003 I walked the Matemateaonga Walkway
over 3 days with my N.Z friend Gordon.
The distance was around 42 kilometres and on the
second night we camped on Mt Humphries enjoying views
of Mt Taranaki and Mt Ruapehu in the early morning.
Gordon belongs to the New Plymouth Tramping Club.
Kia ora ( greetings in Maori)
I am delighted you had such an obviously enjoyable visit to our country in general, and the area you travelled in particular. It is truely a stunning area,. Very enjoyable images. Incidentally, if you really want to be super-clever, the name of the park is Whanganui (with an h). I only found out for sure when I checked it on Google NZ so not trying to be smart (lol).
We Kiwi's nearly always mis-spell it also.
Aroha (warm regards).
