Meet my new boss. I brought her home about two hours ago. She was previously
living with a young woman whose husband was just sent back to Iraq. The woman
is pregnant and her doctor advised against her having cats (something to do
with handling the litter which isn't good for the fetus), so "Kitty" needed
a new home. And that's mine!

She's about 9 months old, she's been neutered and has all her shots. She's
a little anxious just now; she's perched on a dining room chair and is trying
to understand what just happened. We'll take it nice and slow.

But I have no doubt she'll be taking charge quite soon, and I'll be serving
her faithfully as soon as she lays down the rules.

Good to get her used to the camera right away. My cats don't mind the flash, but, then, our building has lead paint.

The rules: Everything here is mine. Where's the food?
I can tell she went to a very good home.

Very nice portrait, Gary. I wish my boss was soft and warm. And quiet.

So much for the empty nest...
...it is a good sign that she didn't come in and start making changes right away :-)

She will be fine because you understand the situation so well :-)

Congratulations Gary.... I look forward to many more photos of the high priestess. She's a beauty!

By the way, kitties don't like flash! Glad you decided on high ISO rather than flash.

She's lovely. Just a little puzzled by her change of environment. She'll warm up soon! Once she settles in you can get busy finding her a friend. Kitties are much happier with a kitty friend...and are much more fun to photograph in twos!

lol, Cats are can never be tamed. I believe you will enjoy having her! How is your 85mm f/1.8? Looks like a sweet lense!

Boy you sure didn't pussy foot around on this big decision. I'm delighted for you and for the kitten. Do we get to vote on a name?
