Urban Fishin' Hole

This fella is fishing in the San Diego River, in Mission Valley.
He's not even a mile from three major freeways, he's surrounded
by two major malls, hundreds of upscale condos, Qualcomm Stadium,
and who knows what all. Downtown is less than three miles away.
In that three mile radius, I'd bet at least a quarter of a million
people live, work and play.

But don't try telling him that! He's FISHIN'!

Oases of beauty in deserts of development are rare. Another one is Mill Creek Park in Youngstown, Ohio, a real gem:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mill_Creek_Park .

It's heartening to know there are still pockets of untouched nature close to the manmade mountains.

How cool! Geesh, our local river is so dry they built a golf course in it.

Nice that he can still find a peaceful spot.

The question is... did he catch any fish?

He looks like he's found a nice quiet place.
