This is the hair light used on Ricky's portrait. Janet uses White Lightning 1600 strobes. They're pricey and powerful - for pro use in multiple situations. You don't have to spend that much money. Alien Bees are recommended by many. Since I will be working with shoe flashes (the kind that fit on your camera's flash shoe bracket and light stands with shoes on them) I will be looking for a larger softbox to put over my flash. I saw one a few months ago but can't put my finger on a link. Will add it when I find it!
