Crockpot Brisket

Bill likes to take brisket sandwiches when he goes hiking and I especially like this brisket recipe because it's so simple and neat!

from "Crockery Cookery" by Mable Hoffman

3 lbs lean beef brisket (I cut off as much fat as possible)
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 sliced onion
1 stalk celery, chopped
1/2 cup chili sauce (bottled kind from supermarket)
1 can beer

Place beef in slow-cooking pot. Add salt, pepper, onion, celery, and chili sauce. Pour beer over. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until tender. Remove beef from pot; slice. Skim fat off juices; serve juices with meat. Makes 5 to 6 servings.

This sounds heavenly! I am going to give it a try. I braved the heat yesterday, turned on the oven and made baked beans which were a big hit with my company along with my favorite grilled chicken and grilled veggies. I should have taken a pic. before everyone dug in.

That looks like it will be a great recipe Isabel. I will have to try that one for sure!
