A couple of robins nested in my yard. Mommy robin laid 4 eggs. I watched her every day taking care of them, spending most of her time brooding.
After 2 weeks, only 2 eggs out of 4 hatched.
One had disappeared, probably stolen by some predator and the fourth one actually never hatched.
After the two chicks were born, daddy robin showed up to help feed the two little ones.
It was very interesting to watch these two birds constantly feeding their young and giving them incredible care and attention.
I would have liked to watch the chicks grow bigger and show you how they grew, but on the third day after they were born the nest was empty and the chicks were gone;
probably killed by a blue jay or a squirrel.
The nest was immediately abandoned by the parents.
