Since we took our old camper to PA in April, we were anxious to take the new travel trailer by Jayco, on a shakedown “cruise”. Our goal was to find new campgrounds within a day’s drive from Tucson, in another area besides Flagstaff. So we set off to the White Mountains, central eastern Arizona, near the town of Greer. Greer is about 250 miles from Tucson, around elevation 8500 (we like camping in the pine trees) and about 6 hours driving time. We chose the Hoyer campground because it was national Forest and Dick's old man’s card (National Parks and Forests) allowed us to camp at half price.
