March 18th - April 9th

Our 23 day adventure began at the La Paz Waterfall Park and Wildlife Refuge, due to our travel delays we only had one day in the area and I would recommend at least two. On to Orosi Valley for some quick side treks to the "Dream House" and the Ujarras church ruins built in the late 1600's.
From Orosi Valley it's upward to 11,260 feet and Irazu volcano, if you go bring pants and a jacket.
We were greeted with 30+ mph winds and cool temperatures. Go early as the clouds rolled in around 9 AM and by the look of it were there to stay. Off to the Pacific coast via the Intercontinental Hwy 2.

A quick stop over at Playa Matapalo yielded some great snake action near our room, nice beach as well. From here it was a short journey (albeit bumpy) to Manuel Antonio where we set up shop for five days. Visited the National Park and also took a side trip to Carara NP past Jaco. The crocodiles, macaws, and monkeys made for an exciting day.

We finished off the trip with a two week stay in a Villa south of Dominicalito. It was nice and relaxing. The view and it's many different angles were just incredible! Howler monkeys woke us each morning with their vocalizing. Toucans, along with fiery-billed aracaries amazed us all day long. The aracaries would bang into the bedroom windows from a bamboo garden next to the Villa. They would sit on the windowsill and stare at their reflection, almost as if they were admiring themselves!

This was our second trip to Costa Rica and I'm happy to say it won't be the last.
