January 4th thru January 11th, 2009
Vickie is, at least, in her late 80's (some rumor early 90's). She plays the role of "neighborhood mayor", everyone knows of her and she knows everyone. She's snowblowing her driveway and does this consistently as needed. A couple weeks ago, when returning home from work, I could not have gotten into my drive had she not blown out the threshold. She gardens with the best of them and her home yard is often on the Buffalo Garden Walk Tour. Quite an amazing woman; has outlived husbands and does her son's yard work ("because she likes to and has the time").
January 3rd, 2009 University at Buffalo in International Bowl
I had a really exciting opportunity to photograph the International Bowl in Toronto Ontario on Jan 3, 2009. UCONN defeated UB 38 to 20 (it was closer than the score) in an exciting game. Shooting with the "Professionals" (there were a number of Pro Photographers) was a learning experience. I did ok, but I am learning you can't do everything well. If you are going to contribute in photography, I believe you need to find specificity in your work. Specialize. Give all your best to a specific approach.
December 29th thru December 31st, 2008
My vacation from work has been wonderful. I haven't thought about work at all and I have had a chance to work with my photography. I am looking forward with anticipation to the UB Bulls International Bowl in Toronto. I have press credentials and will be shooting on the field. Additionally, Ben and his friends are going and seeing them should be fun! The shot I picked for this PLOG was taken at the old Central Terminal freight building. I enjoyed walking around this disserted and decaying building with all the memories it provides. I can almost hear the noise of freight being loaded and trains pulling out. Plus it is a tad adventuresome in that you can tell gangs and vagrants inhabit the place and you never know who you may encounter.
October 8th thru 14th
Erin told me of this house and it was a nice photo op, but the enire North Pearl Street was a real surprize. Beautiful renovated mid 19th century houses. Nice week for photographs.
October 1st thru 7th, 2007
The shed at Barb's property. We took a trip to pick up Barb. All Elaine could think about was getting there and getting back.
September 24th thru 30th, 2007
This was a big work week with the CIT divestiture conversion. Looked at HDR software again this week. I like the intensity of the colors and images, but the "unrealness" you can create is something that does not interest me, really.

September 17th thru 23rd, 2007
This week was a busy photography week. I had the Worldlink shoot (which was less than satisfactory, poor exposures), I shot some candids of the construction people around Citi and the Saturday evening walk downtown to shoot some night shots (which produced this image). It appears a bit underexposed, but I like the detail and exposure when viewed on my Toshiba.
Worked some hours on my Grain Elevator book for Dad.
January 24th thru January 30th, 2011
A big weekend for our family, my step daughter, Callie, the one in the middle in the white dress holding her niece and my new granddaughter, was married to Phil, not pictured. (The guys weren't important in this shot.) It was a beautiful wedding and Callie and Phil (new step son-in-law) leave for Aruba tomorrow (Monday, Jan 31st). These beautiful girls are, left to right, my wife Elaine, my daughter (step) Callie, her sister and my other step daughter Erin and the bright eyed little girl in the middle is Erin's new baby, and my newest granddaughter, Elise.
