Hurricane Ike approaches Texas

Hurricane Ike passed over Galveston Island (causing much damage) and over the city of Houston. We're about 30 miles west of Houston. We experienced high winds (60 - 75 MPH) and some rain. We were lucky - we were on the "clean side" of Ike. No damage - just a lot of cleanup and without power for 5 days. The brunt of Ike arrived in our neighborhood around 1:30 AM Saturday, Sept. 13th, 2008.
