Rubbed raw again

This morning I was happy.
As the day wore on though, I was sad.
Mostly just rubbed raw again.
We have this stone outside our office.
Walking in I noticed someone had left flowers.
Just a symbol that we remember Jim.
We remember everyone, but we miss him.
To be honest I only knew him in passing.
Back then you knew almost everyone in the company a bit.
Saw him in the hall the week before it happened.
Gave the head nod and the "hey".
And that was that.
Most people have changed jobs since then.
They are probably thinking a lot of the same thoughts.
Justice doesn't really prevail.
Nothing that happens today changes it.
I wish I had better words than… It sucks.
