Take flight

You can't fly until you spread your wings.
It should have been obvious to me but wasn't.
So many years not flying seems like a waste.
And yet even if I had not been in a box,
would my wings have even have worked if I tried?
It is an interesting question I think of time to time.
I always knew how to fly but couldn't.
Now that I do the whole world looks different.
I guess it was just a matter of perspective.
The sky looked like it would crush me before.
Now that I am in the sky I fly free.
Life is really good.
