This is part of an extensive graveyard dating from about 3000 BC. There are about thirty megalithic tombs loacated around Loughcrew, some of which have been excavated before proper recording techniques wwere in place. Inside one tombs carved bones were found from the LaTene celtic period which was about 500BC. The LaTene group were the last Celtic invaders and obviously took over the tombs from their displaced predecessors.
