Death Valley had 6 inches of rain by the end of February 2005;

(that's three times the norm for a typical year

and the wettest it has been in recorded history).

The rain has created a transformation;

more wild flowers,

large areas of surface water

and

more erosion so there were more areas that were not accessible by road.

Unprecedented...

Zane, Your pictures seem to reflect well of a harsh, but beautiful environment. Especially noteworthy is Dust Storm 2. The photo has rich black and white zones; the subject exhibits a passion of actually "being there."
