While the dry permanent islands of the Okavango Delta have habitat similar to the Linyanti River area, the flooded Delta is spectacular with its miles of channels through reed, rush and papyrus beds, dotted with palm tree islands and floating water lilies. The grandeur and magnitude of this marsh is difficult to describe or capture in pictures. All of us enjoyed this habitat much more than we had anticipated.
