Birds

Botswana and East Africa share many of the same bird species and we were pleasantly surprised when we could actually identify many of them from memory. Although birds were abundant in the Delta, it wasn't always easy to see them. With perserverance and a little luck, we did see a few special birds -- the endangered Wattled Crane, the secretive Lesser Jacana, and the Pel's Fishing Owl. But it was the flashy Malachite Kingfisher which stole the show.
