I went out to get the morning newspaper a little after sunrise. I noticed there was a thin coat of ice all over my car. I went and got my S2 and the 70-200 VR lens.Because the light level was low-ish and I didn't want to make a big production of getting my shot, I figured the VR would be the best lens.I was shooting for an on-line photo contest with the them of "repeating pattern",and I liked the repetition I saw in the pure,natural,wondrous form of frozen water. The way the light played across the thin film of ice helped emphasize the curving lines,and the feathery,delicate shapes radiating outward from what reminded me of the center-stems of peacock tail feathers or ostrich or emu feathers. I took six shots,and of those I liked this one best. I never did enter this photo in the contest.
