The Provost

Ceres, Fife

This unusual 'Toby Jug' figure was carved in the early 1800s
as a memorial to the Rev. Thomas Buchanan who was the last Provost of Ceres.
After standing in the village for 100 years the statue was removed and sold,
only for the upset residents to buy it back and place it in its current
position in the centre of the village.
