The victim of one of Scotland's most notorious murders, David Rizzio
(or Riccio) was killed by the jealous husband of Mary Queen of Scots
in 1566 and his body hurriedly buried in the grounds of Holyrood Palace.
It was later reburied in the nearby Canongate Churchyard.
