Australia Zoo's Terri Irwin will fly to the United States this week to meet environmental crusader Erin Brockovich.
Mrs Irwin was unable to meet Ms Brockovich when she was in Australia last week, but the pair spoke on the phone about Ms Brockovich's role in the fight to stop mining on the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve in Cape York.
Ms Irwin says the high-profile US environmental crusader has agreed to provide legal and strategic advice.
"Her role has been not only giving me the backing to continue with the fight that we're working on but also from a legal standpoint, media standpoint and as a strategist," she said.
"She's talking about looking at different legal angles that we may not have fully explored and she has ideas that are new and fresh and she's very passionate and excited."
