Saving animals has always been important. But with these people on the job, it's as fun as anything. The Pet Pound usually covers animals, but this time I think it's important to remember the people who diddo so much for them. You might of heard of these two men but here is some info that will blow your mind and get you to thank them. They are Steve "The Crocodile Hunter" Irwin and John "Jack" Hanna — my biggest idols.

Steve Irwin

Steve Irwin is my biggest idol because of his strength and dedication to the animals. Sadly, the Crocodile Hunter passed away while filming an episode of Ocean's Deadliest (looks like he got more then what he asked for!). As he was swimming next to stingrays, one of them didn't like his company and pierced him right in the chest with its tail. Although it was a tragedy, he died doing something he loved. Irwin was a naturalist, a zoologist, a conservationist and a television personality. He once cried because of the death of Mary, his favourite crocodile. But he found a new one and called her Bindi. (that is where Bindi, his daughter, got her first name.) Terri and Steve bought a dog and called her Sui (that is where Bindi got her second name). Little Robert took Steve's father's name. Stephen Robert Irwin was born on Feb. 22 1962 in Essendon, Victoria, Australia.

He has a wife called Terri Irwin, and two kids called Bindi Sue Irwin (the jungle girl) and Robert (Bob) Clarence Irwin.

Steve Irwin always looked for snakes and small reptiles from his toddler years to when he died. It was a part of him. At age four, Steve put his foot down on the second most venomous snake in the world, the common brown snake. He kept his foot on the snake's head until his dad came to help him. He was in a lot of trouble but, "it was not nearly as dangerous as the Egyptian cobra." Steve Irwin has gotten bitten by snakes, snapped at by snapping turtles, and he even put his head inside a crocodile's mouth. If you look at all the accomplishments that Steve has performed, there is really only one Steve Irwin.

Jack Hanna

I love Jack Hanna because he has the job that I hope to have in the future. Like Steve Irwin, Jack has a major amount of dedication to the animals of the planet Earth.

John Bushnell Hanna, a.k.a Jack Hanna, is a zoologist born on Jan. 2, 1947 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He is now 61 years old and is still pretty cool to me!

He is the star of the show Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures. He is an American zoo keeper who is the Director Emeritus of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. He was Director of the zoo from 1978 to 1993, and is viewed as largely responsible for elevating its quality and reputation. His media appearances have made him one of the best known and well liked animal experts in the United States. Hanna, nicknamed "Jungle Jack," is instantly recognizable by his khaki safari outfit, deep tan, Southern twang and shaggy hair. When I think Jack Hanna, I think of actor. As well he is, but is also an amazing person with an amazing personality and an amazing job. He has appeared many times on the Ellen Degeneres Show.

I hope that you will retain some of this information because it is very extraordinary.

By the way, did you know that the Bald Eagle recently got removed from the endangered species list? But that does not mean that we have to stop protecting them. They are right on the line, so keep up the good work such as recycling and such.
