I visited the Fergus Falls Treatment Center in Nov. 2007, to see the place my Grandmother, who I never knew, stayed for several years and passed away there. I was very impressed with the buildings and the history of it. I would like to know if there has been any progress on preserving it as an historical facility or is the future of it still in limbo. hey i went to this treatment center for 45 days it was pretty cool. it was weird tho ahd to stay in a biulding that has a lot of history to it and that is what made it cool and interesting .

I highly appreciated all Regional Treatment Center because of their effort on providing safe, compassionate, healing environment where asylum seekers can be strengthened socially, spiritually, emotionally and physically utilizing a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach. What about using the buildings as a job corp center. It has all of the buildings. Places for the kids to stay. Places for staff to stay. Auditorium, Garage, the old hospital could be used for classrooms or more Dorms. Anyway its just an idea. Its a shame for these testaments to beautiful architecture to go to waste.

I went on a tour last Friday of the Kirkbride and was so impressed with all of it. My Grandmother had been a patient there in about the 1920's - 1935 when she died out there. I never knew her, but I was glad to learn that the patients were treated very well. The tour guides did a wonderful job. The buildings are so beautiful and I am glad to have learned that they are not going to be demolished. Hopefully they will preserve the history of the buildings, even though there will be renovation on them. Thankyou so much! Nancy

Very nice collection of photos. I'm glad to see that we're documenting the Kirkbride as the process of redevelopment takes place.

Thank you for the pictures. I'm an employee of the FFRTC and have STILL not seen it all. I've got to go to one of these tours. Would love to see all of the outbuildings and hear some of the rich history that goes with this beautiful old building. Again, thanks for sharing your pics! Cindy :)
