Forty-four years of police forensic identification and detective duties in three countries gave me a wide experience of police work. The fact that photography was an integral part of my duties was a bonus when this became my hobby and abiding passion. During the course of my career I sought to gauge my capabilities by applying for qualification with various professional bodies. I have been awarded a Fellowship of the Evidence Photographers' International Council; an Associateship of the Association of the Institute of Incorporated Photographers; and an Associateship of the New Zealand Professional Photographers Association, all in scientific and technical photography. I also have an Associateship of the Royal Photographic Society in Portraiture. Significantly, the advance that has made widespread viewing of my images possible through digital photography has occurred close to my retirement and I can now enjoy my photography without regard to chalked outlines and phone calls at 3:00 a.m!
