Europe's second largest military Tattoo is held at Basel, Switzerland.The site of the Tattoo is the medieval military barracks on the banks of the Rhine, The Kaserne, where tiered seating is erected to accommodate 7,700 spectators. Over the week of the Tattoo, 84,000 spectators will enjoy the event. The tickets go on sale in January and are sold out by the 19th of the month. In its fourth year the Tattoo is an example of quiet Swiss efficiency.
Participants in the 2009 Tattoo came from Australia, Germany, New Zealand, Canada, Oman, Great Britain and from Switzerland itself, among other countries.
The Delta Police Pipe Band were guests at the Tattoo and enjoyed the hospitality and friendliness of the organizers and the event. These images are representative of the images contained on the DVD available to members of the Delta Police Pipe Band and supporters. The DVD will also contain images of the Band's activities and a performance at the Bastille Day celebrations in Illzach, France.
